Understanding how high-performance window film works and what it can offer to commercial buildings is the first step in deciding whether it will be an effective energy-efficiency option for your organization. But even after you learn about window film’s benefits, it can still be challenging to know what type will address your building’s unique requirements.

Do you have questions about window film that you’ve been wanting to ask – but don’t know who to ask (or how)? Eastman Chemical Company, manufacturer of high-performance commercial window film, is hosting a free one-hour webinar on Dec. 16, 2014, to answer your window film questions.

Sign up to join this webinar and learn how window film can:

Improve your commercial building’s energy efficiency

Today’s high-performance, low-e window film can improve the insulating power of window glass. New technology adds as much as 92% more insulating power to existing windows: with low-e window film, single-pane windows may experience the same insulating performance as double-pane windows, and double-pane windows may experience the same insulating performance as triple-pane windows. By improving window insulating performance, interior temperatures can be better regulated without over-taxing HVAC systems. This webinar will illustrate how window film works to improve building envelope efficiency.

Help achieve sustainable design goals

If your sustainability goals include reducing HVAC and lighting energy use, high-performance window film can help. Because window film reduces solar heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter, it can prevent heating and cooling systems from running as long or as often. This may result not only in year-round comfort and energy savings, but also in reduced HVAC maintenance costs. And if solar heat gain and heat loss are better controlled, then occupants may be more likely to leave blinds and shades open, allowing more daylight in (and ultimately reducing the amount of electric lighting needed). This webinar will demonstrate how window film can help you meet your green building goals.

Increase your building’s safety and security

Broken glass isn’t just a hassle to clean up – it can also put the safety of tenants and occupants at risk. Window film can help improve safety of glass upon impact. When glass breaks, shards typically fly through the air, exposing tenants and occupants to potential injury. Security window film holds glass in place if it breaks, whether it’s due to vandalism, weather, or an accident. This webinar will describe the value of window film with safety features, and how it can reduce liability and potential injury.

Provide affordable interior design options

Window film can be used inside and outside to not only control daylight, but also brand your organization, offer privacy and visual separation, or assist with wayfinding. Decorative window film is available in a variety of sizes, colors, textures, frosts, and patterns. It can be installed in a variety of applications, including glass, metal, painted, or other surfaces. This webinar will describe the different ways in which window film can be incorporated as a design element – often much more cost-effectively than other options, such as etched glass.

The webinar also offers you the opportunity to ask me (Steve DeBusk, Eastman’s global energy solutions expert) any questions you have about how window film might work in your building. Hope you can join us on Dec. 16! Sign up today!
